Week 1 · 01 — Global Aviation Governance

ICAO sets the global minimums, but it's national and regional authorities that actually certify pilots, inspect aircraft, and license airlines day to day. This module looks at how that translation from global standard to local enforcement works, using real regulators like the FAA and EASA as concrete examples.

Week 1 · 02 — National and Regional Aviation Authorities

Prepare for Week 1 Live Class 2 by analysing how aviation safety systems identify hazards, manage risk and support continuous improvement.

This module covers Safety Management Systems, how accidents get investigated, and the 'just culture' philosophy that encourages people to report mistakes instead of hiding them.

Week 1 · 03 — Aviation Safety Systems

A pilot from Tokyo and a controller in São Paulo can understand each other in seconds, even with no shared first language, because aviation uses a single standardized communication system worldwide. This module covers standard phraseology, the phonetic alphabet, read-back procedures, and NOTAMs — the system built, in part, from hard lessons like Tenerife.

Week 1 · 04 — Aviation Communication

Prepare for Week 2 Live Class 1 by strengthening the language competencies needed for clear communication in an international aviation environment.

Standard phraseology (covered in the last module) handles routine, predictable situations — but real flights sometimes need pilots and controllers to improvise in plain English, often across language barriers. This module covers ICAO's language proficiency requirements and why 'good enough' English isn't good enough in aviation.

Week 2 · 05 — Aviation English

Complete for Week 2 Live Class 1. Analyse airport infrastructure, stakeholders and operating processes as an interconnected system.

An airport runs as a tightly coordinated emergency-ready operation around the clock, not just a building with runways. This optional track goes deep on three things Introduction to Aviation only touched on: how airport operations actually run day to day, the fire and rescue services standing by for the worst case, and the layered security system protecting every flight before it ever leaves the ground.

Week 2 · 06 — Airports in Depth

Prepare for Week 2 Live Class 2 by differentiating the principal air traffic services and examining how they support safe, orderly and efficient flight.

Introduction to Aviation introduced the controllers who hand an aircraft off from gate to gate. This optional track goes underneath that handoff chain: how airspace itself is divided into classes with different rules, how controllers keep aircraft safely separated whether or not radar is available, and what actually happens in the room where it's all coordinated.

Week 2 · 07 — Air Traffic Services

Complete for Week 2 Live Class 2. Explain the ATSEP contribution to communications, navigation, surveillance and the reliability of air traffic management systems.

Every radar screen, every radio frequency, every navigation beacon a controller relies on was built, calibrated, and is kept running by someone else entirely — an ATSEP engineer. This optional track introduces the technical backbone behind air traffic services: the systems themselves, and the specialized personnel who keep them safe to depend on.

Week 2 · 08 — Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP)

Prepare for Week 3 Live Class 1 by examining unmanned aviation, its operational uses, risks and developing regulatory environment.

A delivery drone, a hobbyist's quadcopter, and a long-endurance surveillance aircraft are all, technically, the same broad category: unmanned aircraft. This optional track covers how they're classified, what rules govern where and how they can fly, and the genuinely hard problem of fitting them safely into airspace originally designed entirely around aircraft with pilots on board.

Week 3 · 09 — Drones and Unmanned Aviation

Complete for Week 3 Live Class 1. Analyse the safety, service and coordination responsibilities involved in cabin operations.

Cabin crew are often seen primarily as a service role — but their actual job, by training hours and legal requirement, is safety first. This optional track looks at what cabin crew are really trained for, how an emergency evacuation actually has to happen in seconds, and the surprising amount of authority a cabin crew member holds in the moments that matter most.

Week 3 · 10 — Cabin Crew Operations

Prepare for Week 3 Live Class 2 by explaining how maintenance, repair and overhaul systems preserve aircraft airworthiness and operational reliability.

An aircraft isn't simply inspected occasionally and trusted in between — it's maintained against a meticulously documented schedule, where every single task, no matter how small, has to be signed off by name before the aircraft can fly again. This optional track covers how Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) actually works, and why a single missing signature can ground an aircraft regardless of how it actually performs.

Week 3 · 11 — Aviation Maintenance (MRO)

Complete for Week 3 Live Class 2. Examine how dispatch, flight planning and airline operational control coordinate a safe and efficient service.

Long before passengers board, someone has already calculated exactly how much fuel the flight needs, checked the weather along the entire route, planned an alternate airport in case of trouble, and formally signed off that the flight is fit to depart. This optional track covers the dispatch and flight planning system working behind every single flight, and the role — flight dispatcher — that shares legal responsibility for the flight with the captain.

Week 3 · 12 — Airline Operations and Dispatch

Prepare for Week 4 Live Class 1 by interpreting core weather concepts and evaluating their effects on flight planning and operational decision-making.

Pilots and dispatchers don't read the weather forecast the way most people do — they read a dense, coded report packed into a single line of text, and a separate forecast structured the same way. This optional track decodes METAR and TAF reports, explains how weather radar and icing forecasts actually work, and shows why aviation weather reporting prizes precision and brevity over plain language.

Week 4 · 13 — Aviation Meteorology

Complete for Week 4 Live Class 1. Analyse how authoritative aeronautical data and information products support the safety and integrity of operations.

Every chart, runway diagram, and navigation procedure a pilot relies on comes from somewhere — a continuously maintained body of official data, updated on a strict global schedule so that a chart in one country's database matches a chart in another's. This optional track covers the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP), the AIRAC cycle that keeps it all synchronized, and how this system relates to the NOTAMs covered earlier in this course.

Week 4 · 14 — Aeronautical Information Services (AIS)

Prepare for Week 4 Live Class 2 by consolidating clear aviation language for study, workplace communication and professional development.

This course's mandatory Aviation English module covered the ICAO proficiency requirements and the regulatory side of why language matters in aviation. This optional track is the practical companion: vocabulary, real workplace scenarios, and writing practice for anyone preparing for an aviation career where strong English is a genuine professional asset, not just a regulatory checkbox.

Week 4 · 15 — General Aviation English

Complete for Week 4 Live Class 2. Evaluate possible aviation pathways, strengthen employability preparation and produce a practical personal action plan.

You've now studied the regulatory backbone of aviation and, depending on which optional tracks you chose, gone deep on one or more specific paths — airports, air traffic services, drones, cabin crew, maintenance, dispatch, meteorology, aeronautical information, or technical systems. This closing module turns that knowledge into a practical career roadmap: what the job market actually looks like, how to find the right training, and how to present yourself convincingly on paper and in an interview.

Week 4 · 16 — Aviation Careers and Career Development

A deeper, more technical follow-on to Introduction to Aviation, covering global aviation governance, safety, communication, and English fundamentals as mandatory ground, with eleven optional specialist tracks to explore based on interest.
